Fort Mill’s Sam Benton tees off at Tega Cay Golf Club during the Jackets match against Indian Land.

TEGA CAY – The Fort Mill girls’ golf team stayed undefeated in head-to-head competition beating Indian Land Wednesday at the Tega Cay Golf Club.

Fort Mill shot a 180 to Indian Land’s 191 and improved to 3-0 on the season. The Jackets were led by Claire Collins with a 41 playing The Cove portion of Tega Cay Golf Club. Sam Benton was behind her with a 44 and Lauren Venino also shot a 44 for the Jackets. Campbell Grant finished off the scoring for Fort Mill with a 51.

Fort Mill will next take on Indian Land on their home course of Edgewater Golf Club next Wednesday, Sept. 11.

Sept. 4 Roundup

The Catawba Ridge girls’ golf team beat Clover at River Hills Golf Club in Lake Wylie. Catawba Ridge shot a 174 to Clover’s 216. The Copperheads were led by a 41 from Brooke Mehlhouse and a 43 from Ella Rose Hill. Both Jordan Lyons and Anjali Peddisetty shot rounds of 45 for Catawba Ridge, who improved to 6-0 overall.

Late on Tuesday, Sept. 3, the Catawba Ridge swim team won a six team meet at the Rock Hill Aquatics Center. The Copperheads beat Indian Land, South Pointe, Northwestern, Rock Hill, and Riverwalk Academy.

Winning for Catawba Ridge was:

Amelia Meehan – girls’ 200-yard individual medley and 100-yard backstroke

AG Marino – girls’ 100-yard butterfly

Catawba Ridge won four of the six relay events.
