The Catawba Ridge Copperheads girls’ golf team remains undefeated with a dominate win over the York Cougars.
Catawba Ridge shot a 161 at Fort Mill Golf Club and beat York by nearly 50 strokes as they shot a 210. The Copperheads were led by a 39 from Brooke Mehlhouse. Reagan Lynch shot a 40, while both Ella Rose Hill and Anjali Peddisetty each shot rounds of 41 to finish the scoring.
The win pushed Catawba Ridge’s record to 8-0 on the season. Up next on the schedule for the Copperheads, they will travel to the Rock Hill Country Club on Monday, Sept. 16 to play in the Lady Trojan Invitational. Their next home match will be Wednesday, Sept. 18 against Indian Land and Nation Ford.

The Fort Mill girls’ golf team lost their first match of the season falling 177-197 to Indian Land at the Edgewater Golf Club in Lancaster. The loss drops Fort Mill to 3-1 in head-to-head matches. Leading the way for Fort Mill was Ava Staroski with a 47. She was followed with a 48 from Olivia Siefert and a 49 from Lauren Venino. Campbell Grant finished out the scoring with a 53.
The Nation Ford girls’ tennis team lost to Cuthbertson 7-0 for their first lost of the season. Nation Ford is now 2-1 on the season overall.
The Catawba Ridge girls’ tennis team lost to Charlotte Latin 3-0 in three doubles matches at the North Carolina school. The loss drops them to 1-2 on the season.
On Tuesday, Sept. 10, the Nation Ford swim team swept a five way meet at the Clover Community YMCA beating Northwestern, York, Clover, and Riverwalk Academy.
The Nation Ford boys beat the following teams – Riverwalk Academy 136-7, Clover 110-60, Northwestern 121-47, and York 135-26. The Nation Ford girls beat the following teams – Clover 109-61, York 132-33, Riverwalk Academy 140-7, and Northwestern 125-45.
Nation Ford won four of the six relay events. Individuals winning for the Falcons were:
Gavin Charcalla – boys’ 200-yard freestyle and 500-yard freestyle
Avery Martin – girls’ 200-yard individual medley and 500-yard freestyle
Gray Reiger – boys’ 200-yard individual medley and 50-yard freestyle
Brittany Fink – girls’ 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard backstroke
Beckett Jones – boys’ 100-yard butterfly and 100-yard breaststroke
Sophia Bujoreanu – girls’ 100-yard butterfly
Belle Kolatis – girls’ 100-yard freestyle
Noah Kraxberger – boys’ 100-yard freestyle
Levi Vaden – boys’ 100-yard backstroke
Up next for Nation Ford swimming is another five team meet Thursday, Sept. 12 at the Fort Mill Aquatic Center.
