COLUMBIA – Both Catawba Ridge and Nation Ford girls’ golfers finished in the top 10 in the Lady Bengal Invitational in the Columbia Country Club.

Catawba Ridge finished sixth out of 17 teams and Nation Ford finished 10th. Fort Mill finished 13th overall. May River won the event shooting a 612.

The Copperheads shot a 690 (343-347) as a team and were led by Brooke Mehlhouse with a 163 (82-81) and Reagan Lynch with a 164 (81-83). Ella Rose Hill shot a 179 (89-90), while Anjali Pedissetty shot a 91 on day one and Jordan Lyons shot a 93 on day two.

The tournament was a two-day tournament and kicked off the 2024 girls golf season for all three local schools.

Nation Ford shot a 744 (381-363) for their top 10 finish. They were led by Piper Sabino, who shot a 164 (80-84) and Sara McCaskill 178 (88-90). Katie Griggs finished with a 198 (95-103) and Hadley Mark finished with a 204 (100-104).

Fort Mill shot a 768 (391-377) during the tournament. They were led by Samantha Benton with a 166 as a two-day total. She was followed by Claire Collins with a 175 and Ava Starosky with a 210. Olivia Seifert finished the scoring with a 217 over the two days.
