Catawba Ridge’s Brooke Mehhouse tees off on the 18th hole at Fort Mill Golf Club Monday afternoon.

The Catawba Ridge girls golf team easily handled business against Clover at Fort Mill Golf Club Monday.

Catawba Ridge was led by Brooke Mehlhouse, who shot a three over 39, as the Lady Copperheads beat Clover 172 to 209.

Mehlhouse was followed by Reagan Lynch with a 42, while Ella Rose Hill shot a 45 and Jordan Lyons shot a 46 to finish the scoring for Catawba Ridge.

The match puts Catawba Ridge at 1-0 on the season in head-to-head matches after finishing sixth last week in the Lady Bengal Invitational. It also puts them 1-0 in the new Region 3-5A.

Catawba Ridge will take on another Region 3-5A opponent in Indian Land on Tuesday, Aug. 27 at the Lady Warriors home course of Edgewater Golf Club in Lancaster.

The Lady Copperheads don’t return home until Sept. 11 when they face York at Fort Mill Golf Club.

The Fort Mill boys’ volleyball team fell to 2-4 overall on the season after losing 3-2 in five sets to the Providence Athletic Club in Columbia Monday. Fort Mill fell 16-25, 25-18, 25-21, 19-25, and 13-15.
