Four Fort Mill errors and struggles from the bullpen cost Post 43 a sweep of Rock Hill Post 34.

Rock Hill scored two runs in the top of the eighth inning to go on and beat Fort Mill 9-7 in game three of the series. Post 43 made two of their four errors in the game in the top of the eight allowing Rock Hill to score the two runs.

Fort Mill got base runners on in the first inning, but wasn’t able to push them across.

Rock Hill got runners on second and third base in the second inning, but Post 34 wasn’t able to score.

Jackson Mullen singled, Simon Fernandez and Thomas Ealey both walked to load the bases for Fort Mill in the bottom of the second with one out. Noonan drove in Mullen and Cooper Zohner drove in two more runs on a single scoring Fernandez and Ealey.

Rock Hill scored for the first time in the series with the help of an error and a double with two outs in the third inning.

In the bottom half, Fort Mill got two runners in scoring position with no outs. Post 43 would score a run on a passed ball leading to a pitching change for Rock Hill. Mullen scored on a wild pitch and Owen

Noonan doubled in Fernandez, who reached on a walk earlier in the inning.

Rock Hill would rally in the top of the fourth off a walk and three consecutive base hits. Post 43 starter Sam Czyz was pulled after going three and two thirds. He would allow four runs on six hits while walking two and striking out four.

That pushed the score to 6-4 with Fort Mill holding onto a two-run lead. In the bottom of the inning, Fernandez drove in Zach Jennings, who reached on a single, to give Post 43 some breathing room.

Fort Mill threatened in the fifth but left a runner on as they again failed to get an insurance run.

Lane Ross came in for Post 43 in the fourth and fifth innings and pitched an inning and a third allowing one hit in facing five batters.

Aiden Cattarin took the mound in the top of the sixth inning for Fort Mill. Rock Hill continued to chip away and pulled within one in the sixth inning scoring two runs to make it 7-6.

Post 43 loaded the bases in the bottom of the sixth with two outs all due to walks, but came up empty without scoring a run.

Rayce Buskirk came in for Fort Mill in the seventh inning. Rock Hill tied the game at seven, but Post 43 got a 3-6 double play to get out of the inning. Fort Mill was unable to score in the bottom of the seventh pushing the game to extra innings.

Noonan went 3-5 with two RBIs and Zohner went 1-2 with two RBIs.

Post 43 has two more regular season games next week before playoffs start.
