Fort Mill’s Emily Rimmer returns a serve during her match Thursday against Northwestern.

The Fort Mill girls’ tennis team wasted little time against the Northwestern Trojans as they improved to 4-0 on the season.

Fort Mill has yet to drop a match this season winning all four by 6-0 scores. On Thursday, that was no different as they beat the Trojans by that score losing only four games in the entire match.

Leading the way for the Jackets was No. 1 singles winner Emily Rimmer, who won 6-0, 6-2. Reagan Adams won No. 2 singles 6-1, 6-0 for Fort Mill. Both Kendall McCarty and Hannah Swainey won at No. 3 and No. 4 singles by identical scores of 6-0, 6-0. Esme Bronham won at No. 5 singles 6-1, 6-0 for Fort Mill and Abhi Nallareddy and Maddie Burcham won in the only doubles match teaming for a 6-0, 6-0 win.

Fort Mill will next face Indian Land next Thursday, Sept. 19 on the road and won’t return home until Tuesday, Oct. 1.

The Catawba Ridge girls’ tennis team beat Indian Land 4-2. Winning for the Copperheads was No. 1 singles Gracyn Root 8-6, 4-6, 10-4; No. 2 singles Gianna Toscano 6-0, 6-0; No. 4 singles Skylar White 6-1, 6-0; and No. 5 singles Abby Russell 6-0, 6-1. Catawba Ridge is now 2-1 in Region 3-5A and 2-2 overall.

The Nation Ford girls’ tennis team beat Rock Hill 4-2. Winning for the Falcons was No. 1 singles Ava Baldino 6-3, 6-2; No. 2 singles Ansley McDonald 6-1, 6-1; No. 3 singles Piper Land 6-3, 6-4; and No. 4 singles Eva Mabry 7-5, 6-0. Nation Ford is now 3-0 in Region 3-5A and 3-1 overall. 

The Catawba Ridge girls’ volleyball team beat Indian Land 3-0 with scores of 25-19, 25-20, and 25-16. The Lady Copperheads are now 7-4 overall and 3-0 in Region 3-5A.

The Nation Ford girls’ volleyball team beat Rock Hill 3-0 with scores of 25-13, 25-7, and 25-15. Nation Ford is now 14-2 on the season and 3-0 in Region 3-5A.

The Fort Mill girls’ volleyball team beat Northwestern 3-0 with scores of 25-16, 25-10, and 27-25. Fort Mill is now 6-5 overall and 3-0 in Region 3-5A.

The Fort Mill boys’ volleyball team beat Northwestern 3-0 with scores of 25-22, 25-22, and 27-25. They improved to 4-6 on the season and 2-2 in Region 3-5A.

The Fort Mill girls’ golf team beat both Clover and Northwestern at Chester Golf Club. Fort Mill shot a 185, with Clover shooting a 187 and Northwestern shooting a 202. Claire Collins led with a 45 for Fort Mill. She was followed with a pair of 46s from Olivia Siefert and Ava Starosky. Lauren Venino shot a 48 to close out the match.
