All three local high school varsity football teams will be a part of two different jamboree type scrimmages across York County Friday.
Nation Ford will host the fourth annual Gus Allen Memorial Jamboree at Nation Ford High School starting at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 16.
The Gus Allen Memorial Jamboree will feature the Falcons along with three other teams playing a regulated half of football. Berry Academy and Cuthbertson will kick off their portion of the event starting at 6:30 p.m.
Nation Ford will then follow up to finish out the jamboree playing Sun Valley at 8 p.m. Cost is $10 to get into the event.
Both Fort Mill and Catawba Ridge are playing in York at York Comprehensive High School as part of the Bill Pate White Rose Football Classic. The jamboree again will be like other as the two teams will play a regulated half of football.
That event will feature eight teams starting at 6 p.m. with Providence and Central from Pageland. Then at 7 p.m. Westwood and Catawba Ridge will square off.
At 8 p.m. Clover and Byrnes will play and then Fort Mill and York, who are not playing this year during the regular season, will play at 9 p.m. to end the event.
